Questions about VADA

Dress for the weather. VADA has an air-conditioned cabin, but the flybridge — where the views are best — can get breezy underway. We suggest a layer you can throw on and a hat or sunglasses for sunny afternoons. In the cooler months, bring a light jacket for sunset cruises.

For footwear, please wear only flip-flops or boat shoes on the boat. Other types of shoes will be collected upon boarding to protect the vessel's interior.

Yes. VADA has a private marine head (boat toilet) for guest use — a thoughtful detail that sets her apart from smaller vessels.

Please note that a marine head is not the same as a residential toilet. The compartment and fixture are compact by design, sized for a boat rather than a home bathroom.

If you have questions about fit or accessibility, please call us before booking and we'll be glad to walk you through the dimensions or arrange a pre-booking tour.

Yes. Like most cruising yachts, VADA has multiple levels connected by steps in every direction:

  • Stepping aboard from the dock
  • Up to the flybridge
  • Down into the salon
  • Down to the marine head
  • Forward to the bow seating

Most steps are short but steep, and handrails are provided. Guests should feel comfortable navigating short staircases on a moving vessel. If anyone in your party has limited mobility, please let us know in advance so we can talk through what to expect and help plan a comfortable experience.

The St. Johns River is generally calm, but if conditions or sensitivity are a concern, we can operate in more protected waters. Let us know in advance and we'll plan a route that keeps you comfortable.
Often, yes — though wildlife is never guaranteed. The St. Johns River and its tributaries are home to bottlenose dolphins, West Indian manatees (especially in cooler months), bald eagles, ospreys, herons, and other wading birds. Many guests come for the sunset and skyline and leave with a dolphin story. Bring a camera or just settle in on the flybridge and keep an eye on the water.

No. Hydro is an open bowrider and does not have an onboard restroom. Guests should plan accordingly before boarding. Restroom facilities are available at the Wayne B. Stevens Boat Ramp launch area.
Dress casually and for the weather — Hydro is open-air, so sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are highly recommended. Water shoes or flip-flops work well. Expect wind and spray on the water, especially at speed.
